「幹細胞外泌體」

腦損傷與神經退化疾病就目前科學所知是不可逆的症狀,而多數神經退化疾病與腦損傷會引起失智,在台灣估計已經有超過27萬的失智人口,此恐為邁入高齡社會必須面對的挑戰。除了高齡,各種程度的碰撞、不正常的生活習慣、高血壓、糖尿病、長期的壓力及心理疾病等,都是造成腦損傷或退化的可能因素。雖然近年來在多項臨床研究已顯示,幹細胞有望修復神經系統損傷,但因需以手術植入幹細胞,故仍須面臨細胞植入造成的併發症和形成異位組織的隱憂。

國家衛生研究院細胞與系統醫學研究所李華容副研究員研究團隊歷經7年的研究,發現利用特殊技術刺激間質幹細胞,可分離出具有修復細胞功能的「幹細胞外泌體」(Stem Cell-derived Exosomes),並從中鑑定出促使腦神經再生及腦部功能恢復之活性物質。若對大腦受損的小鼠注射幹細胞外泌體,觀察到受損的神經細胞可以長出突觸,神經細胞的數量可以恢復到原本的6成。此研究顯示幹細胞外泌體較間質幹細胞更具有促進組織再生的能力,又能避免細胞植入手術的風險及副作用,對再生醫療帶來新的突破。此系列研究已分別於2019、2020年發表於國際再生醫學權威期刊《STEM CELLS Translational Medicine》,並獲得國外媒體專欄報導。

「幹細胞外泌體」擁三優勢 醫美應用可期
